Working the Land - Boards
A collection inspired by gardening, natural elements and the colours present in it. Having been surrounded by nature all my life with memories of spending time with my grandparents in their large garden and nearby forests, this collection is an expression of a personal connection with nature through textiles print, pattern and embroidery and a commitment to minimal environmental impact through upcycling. The easy workwear shapes and denim and cotton fabrics invite the wearer to work with and not against nature.
Because my collection is a reflection of nature I opted by keeping the Range Plan and Line up simple and clear so that people can really pay attention to the natural elements present in the collection. In order to relate all my garment pieces with each other and also to make it as practical as possible, I designed practical yet stylish deep pockets on all dungarees ; useful to have for any occasion. Another common design element is the fastening; the strap with the loop that you find present in all dungarees and also on the jackets so it ties up. This detail gives a very relaxed and casual look and avoids any heavy hardware.The jackets that were developed for this collection were created with the intention of being worn on different occasions, the long one for a more outdoor lifestyle and the short one; more practical for while gardening. The same applies to the short and skirt dungarees and the dress developed.
